I was always impressed with the attention to detail and the whole Apple experience prior to even turning on your new gadget. Starting with the packaging itself to the unique look and feel of – in reality standard – power cables. In recent years you could almost watch as packaging became less expansive and the build quality of things like the pictured sync cables was slightly reduced.

The Magic Trackpad makes Lion purr

So I made the switch to Lion and felt that I had to at least give the Magic Trackpad a chance with multi-touch gestures being so prominently featured whenever the new OS was shown off. And now, only a few days later, my Mighty Mouse has already taken a back seat.
To be frank at first I wasn’t convinced the new gestures and eye-candy were even needed. The old Exposé did the job for me quite well. Mission Control has an apparent weakness handling lots of windows from the same app – it stacks them. You can use quick-view (hover over a window and press the space bar) to mitigate this or use a 4 finger gesture to spread them out a bit. Also App Exposé (formally accessed by pressing ctrl+Exposé) is now only an easy 3 finger swipe away, with added functionality such as displaying saved files associated with the app in addition to all its currently open windows.
